Havis Dawson is the agency’s CFO and foreign rights manager.

Havis works closely with a network of fifteen high-profile co-agents around the globe to sell translation rights for LDA titles in every language. Standout foreign rights successes include THE GUERNSEY LITERARY AND POTATO PEEL PIE SOCIETY, which was published in 37 languages or territories, and Pierce Brown’s RED RISING trilogy, which has found a home with 35 publishers…and counting!

Each year, Havis and his network of co-agents gather at the London Book Fair and/or Frankfurt to plan for continued worldwide sales success in languages large and small.

Small? How about Gujarati, Latvian and Persian…all of which languages scored LDA deals in the last year.

Large? How about a consistent #1 bestseller in Germany…that’s Cody Mcfadyen’s ongoing score.

An Alabama native, Havis moved to New York after his graduation from Duke University. For twenty years, he was an award-winning editor of business-trade magazines, including a top win for tracing the decline and fall of Detroit’s Stroh Brewing Company.
